Bursa Deputy Mayor Şahin Biba Calls for Rahvan Horse Sport Championship to Be Hosted in City
The 19th edition of the Traditional Rahvan Horse Races was held on 26 July 2026 at the Ürünlü Rahvan Atlı Sports Facility in Bursa. The event was organized by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Services Department in cooperation with the Turkey Traditional Equestrian Sports Federation and featured about 125 competitors, drawing thousands of spectators.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Mayor Şahin Biba, MHP General Secretary and Bursa MP İsmet Büyükataman, other local party leaders and federation president Cemil Ar. Biba highlighted municipal support for ata sports and urged that the national Rahvan championship be staged in Bursa.
Among the winners, the Baş category was claimed by the horse Cihangir ridden by Hasan Akçay; the Başaltı category went to Haskan with Şükrü Tokat; the Büyük Orta category was won by Uzunağa with Nurettin Çarıkçıoğlu, with additional victories in lower categories.
