Bursa elevator malfunction caused by physical interference
Two children were rescued by firefighters after becoming trapped in an elevator at the Şehreküstü BursaRay station in the Osmangazi district of Bursa. The rescue operation lasted approximately one hour, during which emergency teams had to break the elevator door to reach the children. Both children were reported to be in good health following the incident.
Investigations by BURULAŞ revealed that the elevator malfunction was not caused by a technical failure, but rather by physical interference. Security camera footage showed one of the children shoulder-charging the door while the elevator was in motion, causing it to stop.
Authorities have launched legal proceedings to identify those responsible for the damage to public property and to ensure the costs are recovered. BURULAŞ issued a statement urging passengers to use public transportation facilities and common areas with care to avoid damaging equipment.
