Bursa Governorship clarifies EIA status for Nilüfer waste facility

The Bursa Governorship has provided official clarification regarding the proposed Integrated Solid Waste Recovery and Disposal Facility planned for the Kuruçeşme area in the Nilüfer district. Following inquiries made through the Presidency Communication Center (CİMER), the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change issued a formal response regarding the project's Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) status.

The official statement confirmed that the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change issued a positive EIA decision for the project on December 28, 2017. Due to the time elapsed during judicial processes, which was deemed a force majeure event, the validity of the EIA decision has been extended.

However, the Governorship emphasized that a positive EIA decision does not grant exemption from other necessary permits. The project must still obtain all required licenses, approvals, and authorizations from relevant institutions and organizations to proceed. The decision to begin investment remains at the discretion of the relevant authorities.
