Bursa homeowner discovers illegal tunnel reaching house foundation
A homeowner in the Yıldırım district of Bursa, Turkey, has reported the discovery of an illegal tunnel extending from a neighbor's garden into the foundation of his property. Salih Gürsoy, the owner of the house in the Piremir neighborhood, noticed a hole on the ground floor while attempting to show the property to potential tenants.
Gürsoy claims the tunnel was dug for treasure hunting purposes. He noted that while the excavation initially appeared small, it grew significantly over time, eventually reaching the base of his home. Although neighbors allegedly claimed the digging was for a water well, Gürsoy pointed out that the tunnel's trajectory toward his foundation contradicts such a claim.
The homeowner expressed concerns regarding the structural integrity of his house, stating that heavy rainfall could cause water to enter the tunnel and lead to a collapse. Despite reporting the matter to the police and initiating official complaints, Gürsoy stated he is still awaiting a concrete resolution from the authorities.
