Bursa Knife Fight After Social Media Dispute Leaves 22-Year-Old Dead

On 17 June 2026, a dispute that began on social media escalated into a knife fight in Selçukbey neighbourhood of Bursa’s Yıldırım district. Twenty‑two‑year‑old Fırat Berke Alkan was seriously stabbed and died despite emergency treatment, while his friend Yusuf D. was injured and remained in hospital.

Police responded to calls from bystanders and arrested three suspects—identified as G. Ö., A. A. and A. B. T.—after a follow‑up operation in Görükle, Nilüfer. A fourth suspect, G. Ö., remains at large. Authorities have launched a wide‑scale investigation into the incident.
