Bursa knife maker exports patented livestock tools to 11 countries

Adem Çoban, a knife maker based in Bursa, Turkey, has developed a specialized hoof knife designed to facilitate easier nail care for large livestock. The tool, known as a 'suntraç', features a unique angle calculated to prevent the blade from cutting into the animal's hoof, a common issue with standard flat knives that can cause pain and stress to livestock.

The design has been officially registered by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office. Çoban manages the entire production process in his own workshop, from design and drawing to handle assembly and sharpening. The knives are manufactured using heavy-duty German carbon steel for durability and ease of sharpening, with handles primarily crafted from root walnut for both aesthetics and strength.

Beyond the agricultural sector, Çoban produces various models for butchers, chefs, and campers. His business has achieved international reach, exporting products directly to users in 11 countries, including Germany, Spain, Sweden, and Japan.
