Bursa launches youth project to increase disaster resilience

The 'Eurodesk Youth Solidarity for Resilience' project has officially launched in Bursa, Turkey. Supported by the Turkish National Agency and implemented in collaboration with the Bursa City Council under the European Solidarity Corps, the initiative aims to increase the city's resilience against disasters and environmental risks.

The project focuses on raising awareness among young people regarding disaster preparedness, strengthening the culture of volunteerism and solidarity, and fostering sustainable cooperation between youth and local institutions.

During the opening meeting, Bursa City Council President Orhan Samast emphasized the importance of involving youth and non-governmental organizations in project processes. He announced plans to establish a Projects and Resource Development Office within a new structure at the City Council to connect innovative ideas with necessary resources.
