Bursa Malaysia lifts 2026 IPO market‑cap target to RM34 billion, expects large listings later in year
Bursa Malaysia reported a 15.2% rise in net profit to RM144.6 million for the first half of 2026, with operating revenue up 19.6% to RM411.7 million. After a strong fundraising season that saw 36 IPOs raise RM5.4 billion and add RM26.1 billion to market capitalisation, the exchange raised its full‑year IPO market‑cap target for 2026 from RM28 billion to RM34 billion.
CEO Datuk Fad’l Mohamed said the robust pipeline and recent inflows of foreign capital support the outlook, and the exchange anticipates one to two large‑scale IPOs in the second half of the year. He noted a shift of overseas investment back to Malaysia after a brief pull‑back to markets such as Taiwan and South Korea, citing renewed interest in defensive sectors like banking and utilities.
