Bursa man arrested after killing wife and brother-in-law

A 36-year-old man, identified as İsmail M., was arrested following a double homicide in the Yıldırım district of Bursa, Turkey. The incident occurred on a Tuesday morning in the Vakıf neighborhood.

According to reports, the suspect first confronted his 56-year-old brother-in-law, Yavuz Yılmaz, in the middle of the street, where he shot him eight times. After the initial attack, the suspect returned to his residence and shot his 27-year-old wife, Canan M.

Authorities apprehended the suspect on the roof of his house with the weapon used in the killings. Upon his arrest, the suspect reportedly told police and journalists that the killings were a ‘matter of honor,’ claiming he believed his wife and brother-in-law were having an affair. An investigation into the circumstances of the murders is ongoing.
