Bursa police conduct large-scale security operation in Gürsu
Approximately 1,000 police officers conducted a large-scale security operation in the Gürsu district of Bursa. The operation, coordinated by the Bursa Provincial Police Department, involved various units including narcotics, anti-smuggling, anti-terrorism, and traffic departments.
During road inspections, authorities seized two unlicensed pistols (9mm and 7.65mm) along with 26 rounds of ammunition. Officers also recovered 5.4 grams of methamphetamine, leading to legal action against one individual. Traffic enforcement resulted in 232 vehicle checks and 27,224 TL in fines issued to five drivers for rule violations.
In inspections of public businesses, police identified five individuals engaged in illegal gambling at one establishment. Authorities seized 1,000 TL, playing cards, and a bingo card. The business owner faced legal proceedings for providing the venue for gambling, while the five participants were fined a total of 58,020 TL. Additionally, two businesses were found to be operating without licenses, and one was cited for violating tobacco control laws.
