Bursa police fine drunk driver after chase and warning

Police from the Bursa Provincial Traffic Inspection stopped a driver who ignored a "Dur" warning during an alcohol control operation on 8 July 2026. After the driver attempted to flee, saying "Sağa çekiyordum abi," officers cut off his vehicle and forced him to exit.

A breath test showed the driver had a blood‑alcohol level of 0.68 ‰. He was issued administrative fines totaling 450,000 lira and his car was impounded for 60 days. Authorities also noted that his driving licence had previously been suspended for a prior drunk‑driving offense.
