Bursa police fine illegal taxi operators and passengers

Traffic police in Bursa conducted an inspection targeting illegal taxi services on the Bursa-Mudanya road. During the two-hour operation, authorities inspected 16 vehicles and identified four drivers and four passengers engaged in unlicensed transportation.

Total administrative fines issued amounted to 415,480 TL. The four drivers and their vehicles were banned from traffic, with one luxury vehicle being prohibited for 60 days. Passengers were also penalized, receiving a combined total of 15,120 TL in fines.

During the inspection, one passenger reported that the driver had instructed them to claim they were friends if stopped by police. However, the passenger chose to tell the truth, resulting in a personal fine of 3,700 TL.
