Bursa resident beats addiction after calling ALO 191 and attending Healthy Life Center

A. Z., a 1995‑born resident of Bursa, struggled with substance addiction. After dialing the national helpline ALO 191, public authorities directed him to the Mudanya Healthy Life Center (Sağlıklı Hayat Merkezi) operating under the Bursa Provincial Health Directorate.

At the Center he received regular medical follow‑up and weekly professional counseling. The support helped him rebuild self‑control, regain responsibility and reintegrate into society. He cites his daughter as the strongest motivator and says cutting ties with his former environment was essential. He now follows a structured routine, surrounds himself with a clean social circle and spends time in nature.

Social worker Burak Türkmenoğlu stressed that addiction is a medical and psychosocial health condition, not merely a lack of will, and highlighted the Ministry of Health’s emphasis on preventive services through Healthy Life Centers.
