Bursa Technical University hosts robotics program for students

Bursa Technical University (BTÜ) has launched the first phase of the ‘Step into the Future with Robot Dogs: Walking Technologies’ project. Supported by the TÜBİTAK 4004 Nature Education and Science Schools Support Program, the initiative was organized through a collaboration between BTÜ’s Robot Technologies and Intelligent Systems Research and Application Center and the Department of Mechatronics Engineering.

Eighty middle and high school students from Bursa participated in the program at the Mimar Sinan Campus robotics laboratories. The curriculum provided both theoretical and practical training in autonomous technologies, artificial intelligence, robotic systems, and legged robot technology.

Students worked in four-person teams to develop algorithms, first testing them in simulation environments before applying their code to real-time Unitree Go2 Pro-EDU legged robots. Beyond legged robots, participants also explored humanoid robots like NAO, mobile robots, and industrial robotic arms to gain a comprehensive understanding of modern robotics infrastructure.
