Bursa Uludağ University and Döktaş sign industry cooperation protocol

Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) and Döktaş Dökümcülük Ticaret ve Sanayi A. Ş. have signed an industry cooperation and project-based academic participation protocol. The agreement is designed to provide mathematics students with practical field experience through active involvement in industrial projects.

The scope of the collaboration includes student participation in software development, data analysis, and process improvement projects. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and industrial application, allowing students to test their knowledge in real-world manufacturing environments.

During the signing ceremony, BUÜ Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İrfan Kırıştıoğlu emphasized that industry cooperation is a decisive factor in meeting Council of Higher Education (YÖK) criteria. He noted that as digitalization changes student profiles, moving beyond traditional classroom teaching to include internships in software and data sectors is vital for student careers.

Yaşar Uğur Akı, Production and Technology Group Director at Döktaş, stated that the Güriş and Döktaş Group considers contributing to education a fundamental responsibility. The program intends to provide students with industrial project experience and presentation skills, highlighting the direct application of mathematics in the industrial sector.
