Bursa Uludağ University joins Nilüfer Municipality for Uluabat Lake tourism project
Nilüfer Municipality has launched the ‘Fadıllı Destination Project,’ a tourism and conservation initiative covering seven rural neighborhoods around Uluabat Lake: Fadıllı, Akçalar, Gölyazı, Ayvaköy, Unçukuru, Korubaşı, and Maksempınar. The project aims to create a sustainable tourism route by preserving the region's natural, historical, and cultural values.
Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) is supporting the initiative through its Faculty of Architecture. Students and academics are participating in the project as part of their fifth-semester coursework, recently conducting technical field inspections of the area.
Planned developments include integrating the neighborhoods through lake transportation, such as piers and water sports facilities along the Gölyazı, Fadıllı, and Akçalar line. The project also envisions the creation of camping and caravan parks, birdwatching towers, picnic areas, permaculture gardens, and paragliding sites. Additional features include observation terraces and the promotion of the Ayvaini Cave.
