Bursa Uludağ University opens 2026-2027 academic year

Bursa Uludağ University (BUÜ) officially commenced the 2026-2027 academic year with a ceremony held at the Prof. Dr. M. Mete Cengiz Cultural Center. The inaugural lecture, titled ‘A Turkey Without Terror,’ was delivered by Efkan Ala, AK Party Deputy Chairman and Bursa Member of Parliament.

During his address, Ala discussed the importance of knowledge production, brain drain, the relationship between science and justice, and the strategic goals of achieving a terror-free Turkey and region.

University Rector Prof. Dr. Ferudun Yılmaz highlighted the institution's 50-year history, noting its scale of approximately 60,000 students, 15 faculties, and 15 vocational schools. He emphasized the university's contribution to Turkey's human capital and its strength in national and international accreditation, stating that the number of accredited programs has reached 50.
