Bursa woman sentenced to life for murdering and dismembering husband

A court in Bursa has sentenced Adalet Uzunoğlu to aggravated life imprisonment for the murder of her husband, retired police officer Ali Fuat Uzunoğlu.

The incident occurred on January 28 in the Osmangazi district. Following a missing person report filed by Uzunoğlu, police discovered blood traces and biological tissue fragments throughout their residence. Investigations revealed that Uzunoğlu had killed her husband and used a hatchet and knife to dismember his body into 15 pieces, which she subsequently disposed of in various trash containers.

During the trial, Uzunoğlu admitted to the dismemberment but claimed she acted out of fear and a history of alleged abuse from her husband. A forensic report from the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute confirmed that she was of sound mind at the time of the crime. The court reached its verdict following these findings.
