Turkish municipalities roll out dozens of new sports facilities

Municipal authorities across Turkey are investing heavily in new sports infrastructure. In Kahramanmaraş, the metropolitan municipality allocated 78 million TL to build 31 synthetic grass fields in neighborhoods. Kayseri’s Büyükşehir Belediyespor organised an inclusive outdoor program for disabled children and families at the Sarımsaklı Camp. Eyüpsultan Municipality is about to open the Akşemsettin Sports Centre and Café, featuring a swimming pool, modern gyms and personalised training programmes. In Aydın, the provincial youth and sports director signed contracts to construct new sports halls in five districts and add an auxiliary building to the Kuşadası youth camp. Bursa’s Yıldırım district is converting a former market into the four‑storey Piremir Youth and Sports Centre, which will host gyms, a library, a women’s fitness area and shooting ranges. Gaziantep Mayor Fatma Şahin met with 44 medal‑winning athletes, reaffirming the city’s target of 10 000 sporting successes and highlighting ongoing municipal support for athletes and facilities.
