Bursa's Yıldırım district launches Sinandede urban renewal, 13 buildings demolished

The Yıldırım Municipality in Bursa, Turkey, has started a new urban renewal project in the Sinandede neighbourhood. Demolition work began on 13 buildings and 27 independent units on parcel 8030, block 1, to make way for 42 modern apartments and commercial spaces that will be earthquake‑resistant and match the area’s architectural style.

Mayor Oktay Yılmaz highlighted that the project is part of a broader district‑wide effort to create 30,000 new, seismically safe homes. The municipality stresses that the redevelopment combines public resources with private‑sector investment, and includes new roads, green areas, parks and social facilities to improve overall living standards in Yıldırım.

The initiative reflects the district’s commitment to safer, more livable neighbourhoods through coordinated public‑private collaboration.
