Burkina Faso concludes Mandatory Patriotic Immersion for 65,000 youth

Burkina Faso has concluded the second edition of its Mandatory Patriotic Immersion (IPO), a month-long training program involving approximately 65,000 young citizens across the country. The closing ceremonies, held in various locations including Ouagadougou's Stade du 4-Août, were presided over by President Ibrahim Traoré.

The program focuses on instilling values of patriotism, discipline, civic responsibility, and solidarity. President Traoré described the immersion as an “school of life,” urging participants to use humility and continuous learning to support the nation's progressive popular revolution. He emphasized that understanding geopolitics and the environment is essential to avoid ignorance, which he characterized as a danger to the revolution.

Participants expressed satisfaction with the experience, noting that the training fostered a sense of national belonging and collective responsibility. The government has also announced plans to establish national immersion centers across the country to expand the initiative.
