Bus accident in Cesar leaves three dead and 12 injured

A Copetran bus traveling from Bucaramanga to Santa Marta fell into an abyss in the Cesar department, resulting in three deaths and 12 injuries. The accident occurred during the early hours of Wednesday, September 23, in the rural sector of El Marqués, near Aguachica.

The vehicle lost control on the road between Aguachica and San Martín, breaking a bridge's protective barrier before overturning into a creek bed. The three deceased individuals have been identified as driver Óscar Eduardo Mejía, Rosibel Pacheco Torres, and Jorge Luis De La Torre Rojas.

Emergency response teams, including firefighters, the Civil Defense, and the police, conducted rescue operations in difficult terrain to evacuate the injured to medical centers.
