Mexico-Pachuca highway bus accident leaves one dead and dozens injured
A fatal bus accident occurred on the México-Pachuca highway near Tecámac, State of Mexico, leaving at least one person dead and approximately 15 to 20 passengers injured. The incident took place around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday at kilometer 32.
Reports indicate that an Ómnibus de Tizayuca (ODT) bus, carrying roughly 60 passengers, collided with a private vehicle, described as a black Audi, in the high-speed lanes. Following the impact, the bus driver lost control, causing the vehicle to strike a retaining wall and overturn on its right side.
Emergency responders, including the National Guard, firefighters, Red Cross, and Civil Protection, arrived to assist passengers who were trapped inside the vehicle. The deceased was identified as a man approximately 40 years old. Several injured passengers were transported to nearby medical facilities, including the IMSS Regional General Hospital 200 and a military hospital. The State of Mexico Attorney General's Office has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision.
