Bus accident on México-Pirámides highway leaves at least 11 injured

A passenger bus accident occurred on the México-Pirámides highway on Sunday morning, resulting in at least 11 reported injuries. The vehicle, operated by Autobuses de Pasajeros Quetzalcóatl S. A. de C. V., veered off the asphalt and came to rest on the median dividing the two directions of the highway near the La Joya Atalutenco neighborhood, between the municipalities of Ecatepec and Acolman.

The bus was traveling from the state of Hidalgo toward the Central del Norte terminal in Mexico City. Emergency responders, including paramedics from the Red Cross, the State of Mexico Emergency Service (SUEM), and Civil Protection units from Ecatepec, Acolman, and San Martín de las Pirámides, attended to the passengers at the scene.

Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the accident or why the driver lost control of the vehicle. The incident caused traffic disruptions in both directions as emergency teams worked to assist the injured and clear the wreckage from the median.
