Bus Fires in Belém, Brazil Cause Panic but No Injuries

Two separate bus fires occurred in Belém within 24 hours. On Saturday night, a bus on Avenida Augusto Montenegro was engulfed in flames, halting traffic on the avenue and prompting the fire department to intervene. No injuries were reported. The following day, a fire began on a bus traveling the Outeiro–São Brás route, forcing passengers to break windows and evacuate. Again, there were no casualties. Authorities have opened investigations into the cause of both incidents, which remain unknown.

Police and military personnel assisted with crowd control and passenger safety during both events, and officials have urged drivers to avoid the affected streets until traffic normalizes.
