Busan Asian Project Market Announces 30 Film Selections for 2026 Edition
Busan’s Asian Project Market (APM), part of the Busan International Film Festival, revealed a slate of 30 feature projects from 20 countries for its 2026 edition. The market set a new record with 604 submissions from 48 nations, up from 455 the previous year, and selected works spanning courtroom drama, coming‑of‑age, family drama, crime thriller, queer romance, black comedy and mystery.
The lineup includes three Japanese projects (Mori Tatsuya’s “13”, Hirose Nanako’s “Wings of Return”, Igarashi Kohei’s “Yours”), Central and South Asian titles such as Kyrgyzstan’s Dastan Zhapar Ryskeldi’s “Bosogo” and Sri Lanka’s Prasanna Vithanage’s “Islands”. Indian entries feature Dominic Sangma’s “Veil of Dust” and Tribeny Rai’s “A Chronicle of Minor Things”. Selections also come from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan (e.g., Kangdrun’s “Orlo in the House”, So Chak Long’s “Whisper of the Silence”), as well as Indonesia’s Reza Rahadian Matulessy (“On Your Lap”) and Pakistan’s Eshah Shakeel (“Dancers”). APM runs October 10‑13 at BEXCO alongside the Asian Contents & Film Market, while the broader BIFF takes place October 6‑15 in Busan.
