Busan City and Democratic Party hold talks on national budget

Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan branch of the Democratic Party of Korea held a consultative meeting on January 9 to discuss regional issues and strategies for securing the national budget for the upcoming year.

Key topics of discussion included the second phase of relocating public institutions to local regions, ensuring the timely opening of Gadeokdo New Airport, and transforming Chimrye Hospital into a public hospital. The two parties agreed to establish a permanent cooperation system to address these and other pressing local concerns.

Additionally, the meeting covered 17 specific projects aimed at AI transformation, future R&D investment, and urban innovation. These include the establishment of a National Quantum Innovation Center, the creation of a blockchain creative district, and the development of a smart city AI transition within the Busan Eco Delta Smart City National Pilot City.
