Busan Global Webtoon Festival marks 10th anniversary

The 10th Busan Global Webtoon Festival is scheduled to take place from October 30 to November 1 at Museum One and the Busan Culture Content Complex. Under the theme ‘Ten Years, One Story,’ the event celebrates a decade of the festival by showcasing approximately 800 works from 190 domestic and international webtoon creators.

Key highlights include business programs featuring representatives from major Japanese publishers Shueisha and Kodansha to facilitate global market entry and creator exchange. The festival will also host international talk shows with artists from Belgium, Scotland, Taiwan, Japan, the United States, and France.

Additional programming includes the first Global Webtoon Short Story Contest exhibition, a drawing talk show, and an ‘AI Moving Toon’ preview that utilizes artificial intelligence to add motion to webtoon scenes. Public activities such as a family cartoon drawing contest and a webtoon consultation center for students will also be available.
