Busan International Comedy Festival enters second week of performances

The 14th Busan International Comedy Festival (Bucofé) has entered its second week, featuring a diverse lineup of domestic and international performers. The festival, which runs until August 30, includes various formats such as sketch comedy, stand-up, and manzai. Notable acts include the non-verbal comedy group Ongals and a Japanese non-verbal live team.

In addition to stage shows, the festival features ‘Comedy Street’ at Haeundae Gunam-ro, showcasing juggling, circus arts, and magic from artists across 10 countries. ‘Comedy Open Concerts’ are also being held at various locations, including the North Port Cruise Terminal, Yurari Square, and Dadaepo Beach Square. These events include unique performances such as ‘New Jeans Nim’ (Yoon Seong-ho), who blends EDM with Buddhist philosophy, and various magic and trot comedy shows.

Festival Executive Chairman Kim Jun-ho stated that the programming aims to provide diverse content, ranging from stand-up for younger audiences to non-verbal performances accessible to global visitors.
