Busan International Comedy Festival to run from August 21 to 30

The 14th Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF) is scheduled to take place from August 21 to 30, featuring a variety of comedy performances across several venues in Busan, including BEXCO Auditorium and Haeundae Gunan Road.

The opening ceremony on August 21 will be hosted by comedian Ji Seok-jin and will include a performance by the band QWER, a talk show by ‘Malja Halmae’, a stage by the French group ‘Mime de Lyon’, and a special performance by the cast of ‘Gag Concert’.

Festival highlights include the ‘Mandam Assemble @ BICF’, ‘Seoul Comedy All Stars’, and a new talk show featuring Kim Hak-rae and Lee Yong-sik to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of legendary comedian Gu Bong-seo.

Free outdoor programs such as ‘Comedy Street’ and ‘Comedy Open Concert’ will be held at locations including the Busan Cruise Terminal, Yurari Plaza, and Dadaepo Beach Park. The festival will conclude on August 30 at the Busan Cinema Center with an awards ceremony and a comedy-music performance.
