Busan launches social welfare and debt recovery support initiatives
Busan is implementing several initiatives to support vulnerable populations and small business owners facing financial hardship.
Local fashion company Sejung has donated 300 million won to support social welfare projects. The funds are allocated toward clothing support for low-income groups, Habitat for Humanity housing improvement projects, and the establishment of ‘B-Work Station,’ a specialized shared office for people with disabilities.
Simultaneously, Busan Metropolitan City has partnered with eight organizations, including the Credit Recovery Committee and the Busan Bankruptcy Court, to launch the ‘One-Stop 100-Day Project for Livelihood Recovery.’ This initiative utilizes two mobile ‘Hope Counseling Buses’ to provide on-site consultations regarding bankruptcy, rehabilitation, and debt adjustment. The project aims to assist small business owners by providing expert diagnosis, help with document preparation, and financial support of up to 1 million won per person to cover legal and administrative costs.
