Busan Nam-gu launches Vision 2040 development plan and holds resident forum

On June 30, the Nam‑gu district of Busan convened a kickoff meeting for the "Vision 2040" long‑term development plan. The Korea Local Economic Research Institute outlined a year‑long study to analyse social, economic and environmental trends and to draft policy directions and strategic projects through 2040. District head Park Jae‑beom said the initiative is “more than a simple plan; it is a crucial process to prepare for a changing era and to lay a sustainable development foundation.”

Two days earlier, the district visited the GS Highrise Apartment to host a resident‑communication forum. About 30 tenants raised issues in five categories – communication channels, cultural program capacity, traffic safety and public‑transport improvement, environmental pollution from nearby eateries, and signage and banner management. Park pledged to coordinate with relevant agencies and address viable proposals, describing the meeting as “a meaningful chance to discuss local issues together with residents.”
