Busan to host 5th One Planet Film Festival in September

The 5th One Planet Film Festival, themed ‘Earth and Us’, will be held at the Busan Cinema Center from September 3 to 7. Organized by the Rights of Nature and the Busan Cinema Center, the event aims to raise awareness about the climate crisis and encourage environmental action.

The festival features a diverse program, including an environmental film festival showcasing 58 films from 29 countries. The opening film, directed by Jin Jae-woon, focuses on the connection between humans and nature through the practice of planting and caring for trees.

Additional programming includes the screening of 18 finalists from an environmental video contest and an exhibition of 16 selected environmental posters. From September 4 to 6, the ‘One Planet Conference’ will host five sessions to discuss environmental issues raised by cinema. The event also offers interactive experiences for citizens, such as resource circulation workshops and AI-themed Earth exhibits.
