Busan Tourism Board visits Chiayi to deepen Taiwan-Korea cooperation

The Busan Tourism Board (BTA) led a delegation to visit Chiayi City to deepen tourism cooperation between South Korea and Taiwan. Led by BTA Chairman Lee Tae-seop, the delegation fulfilled a reciprocal visit commitment following a promotional event in Busan earlier this year.

Chiayi Mayor Huang Min-hui noted that South Korean travelers represent the second-largest group of foreign overnight guests in the city for the first half of the year. The delegation explored local landmarks including the Er-tong commercial district, She-ri Tower, Chiayi Park, and the former Chiayi Prison. They also participated in the annual City God Night Patrol to experience local religious and folk culture.

Officials highlighted that increased direct flights between Taiwan and Busan facilitate easier access to central and southern Taiwan, allowing travelers to connect Chiayi with Alishan and other regional resources. The visit aims to establish a bilateral mechanism to promote reciprocal tourism and cultural exchange.
