Busch Gardens Tampa Bay closed early due to severe weather

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay implemented an immediate shutdown on Thursday, August 27, due to severe weather conditions. Local authorities had issued alerts for the Tampa area involving strong thunderstorms and wind gusts reaching up to 40 mph.

Under the park's Weather-or-Not Assurance policy, part of the United Parks & Resorts family, guests are eligible for a complimentary return visit if inclement weather causes an early closure, disrupts operating hours, shuts down rides for over 60 minutes, or if the heat index reaches 110 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. To receive a replacement ticket, guests must submit a request via Guest Services or an online form within one week of the incident.

The theme park reopened as scheduled on Friday, August 28, and maintained normal operations through the following weekend.
