Bushido discusses family estrangement during time in Dubai

German musician Bushido has shared details regarding a period of emotional distance within his family while living in Dubai. Speaking on the podcast ‘Im Bett mit Anna-Maria und Anis Ferchichi’, the rapper described feeling like a ‘foreign body’ or outsider within his own household.

He noted that the presence of seven domestic employees in the United Arab Emirates contributed to a sense of disconnection. Bushido stated that during family activities, he often felt questioned about his presence, asking himself, ‘Why is he here? What does he want here?’

His wife, Anna-Maria Ferchichi, added that the children often perceived him as being in a bad mood, which led to them feeling ‘unwanted’ for many years.

The family's relationship reportedly improved significantly after returning to Munich, Germany. Bushido noted that taking on more active, everyday parental roles—such as cooking and walking to the bus stop—has helped strengthen his bond with his seven children.
