Australian business and diplomatic leaders convene for annual gala events

Major business and diplomatic organizations held annual gala events in Australia, bringing together high-level government officials, corporate executives, and international representatives.

The Australian Business Summit Council Inc. (ABSC Inc.) hosted its 2026 Annual Gala Dinner and launched the seventh issue of EKONOMOS. The event, held in New South Wales, featured a significant diplomatic presence, including ambassadors and high commissioners from nations such as Indonesia, Egypt, Türkiye, Colombia, and Pakistan. ABSC Inc. President Dr. Frank Alafaci emphasized the role of the organization as a platform for economic diplomacy, trade, and international cooperation.

Separately, the Business Council of Australia (BCA) held its annual dinner at the Sofitel Sydney. The event was attended by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and several senior ministers, including Trade Minister Don Farrell. BCA Chief Executive Bran Black used the occasion to address the government regarding productivity concerns. The gathering included top executives from major Australian corporations, including leaders from Telstra, Coles, and the country’s major banks.
