Small businesses use AI to manage workloads without new hires
A new report from Bluevine, the Lean Team Economy Report, reveals that 53% of small business owners in the United States are using AI or automation tools to manage workloads equivalent to at least one additional employee without increasing payroll.
While 60% of small business owners intend to grow, 40% are choosing to keep their team sizes steady or delay hiring. Approximately 75% of owners plan to delegate business functions to software or AI within the next 12 months. The primary perceived benefits of this lean approach include faster decision-making and lower overhead, cited by 58% of respondents. However, 65% of owners noted that operating with current staff levels has come at a personal cost, most frequently the loss of personal time off.
