Business leaders and Chilean lawmakers address economic needs
The Chamber of Commerce of San Andrés, Providencia, and Santa Catalina has scheduled a meeting for September 29 to consult with its affiliates regarding business needs and expectations for 2027. The session aims to gather direct feedback on current services and identify areas for improvement, including training and business strengthening, to inform the entity’s future planning.
In Chile, the Chamber of Deputies approved a request from Renovación Nacional (RN) lawmakers urging President José Antonio Kast to implement an urgent agenda to combat unemployment. Following a reported unemployment rate of 9.5% for the May-July 2026 quarter, the proposal seeks to expand the Hiring Subsidy, strengthen financing instruments like Fogape for small and medium-sized enterprises, and accelerate regional investment and labor training programs.
