Business regulations for company formation and banking in France
In France, businesses are subject to specific legal and banking obligations depending on their legal structure. Companies are required to publish a legal notice in an authorized journal upon creation, during any changes affecting their operations—such as changes in leadership, headquarters, or capital—and upon dissolution. This publication must occur before registration with the commercial and companies register.
Banking requirements also vary by status. Companies (such as SARL or SAS) must deposit their share capital into a dedicated account before registration. Individual entrepreneurs do not have a mandatory capital deposit requirement, though merchants must maintain a bank account for their activities. Micro-entrepreneurs are required to have a dedicated account for their business if their annual turnover exceeds €10,000 for two consecutive calendar years.
