Businesses prioritize strategy over technology for AI scaling

Business leaders and experts are emphasizing that successful artificial intelligence integration requires a foundation of clear business strategy rather than immediate technology acquisition. At a forum organized by the Corporación de Exportadores de El Salvador (Coexport), representatives discussed how exporters should prioritize defining specific problems and target markets before investing in AI licenses or servers.

Experts noted that technological decisions must address every link in the value chain, including production, inventory, and customer relations. The forum highlighted key areas such as automation, digital transformation, and Industry 4.0 to improve competitiveness in global markets.

On a broader scale, industry data indicates that while AI adoption is widespread, scaling these technologies remains a significant challenge. A report by IDC, commissioned by AMD, reveals that 83% of companies currently run fewer than ten simultaneous AI use cases. Furthermore, only about 22% of organizations ensure their AI investments align with strategic objectives, highlighting a gap between experimentation and full-scale operational integration.
