Businessman in Banco Master plea bargain visited Palácio do Planalto
Antônio Carlos Freixo Júnior, a businessman known as ‘Mineiro’, was recorded entering the Palácio do Planalto on January 23, 2024. Freixo is a key figure in a plea bargain involving Daniel Vorcaro, the former owner of Banco Master.
In his testimony to the Prosecutor General's Office, Freixo claimed to have acted as a financial operator for Vorcaro, managing approximately R$ 1.3 billion between 2020 and 2025. He alleged that he converted large sums into cash, delivering between R$ 1 million and R$ 1.5 million in suitcases at Vorcaro's request. Freixo stated he believed a portion of these funds was intended for improper commissions and advantages.
The investigation also touches on international transfers. Freixo claims his company, Entre Investimentos, received at least US$ 14 million from Vorcaro to fund the Havengate Development Fund in the United States. This fund is reportedly used to finance the ‘Dark Horse’ biopic about Jair Bolsonaro. The plea bargain has been forwarded to Supreme Federal Court Minister André Mendonça for ratification.
