Busta Rhymes announces “Dillagence 2” album featuring J Dilla beats

Rapper Busta Rhymes has announced the release of “Dillagence 2,” a 26-track album scheduled for August 25. The project is composed entirely of previously unreleased beats from the late Detroit producer J Dilla.

Busta Rhymes, who has acted as a custodian of Dilla’s legacy, noted that the producer left behind approximately 300 unreleased compositions before his death in 2006. The new album serves as a direct sequel to the 2007 “Dillagence” mixtape.

The tracklist features a wide array of guest artists, including D’Angelo, Lil Wayne, Common, Big Sean, Anderson .Paak, Ludacris, and Jon Batiste. The project aims to highlight Dilla’s unique, non-quantized production style and his enduring influence on hip-hop and R&B.
