Busto Arsizio political group attacks sports facility maintenance

The local political group Azione has criticized the municipal administration of Busto Arsizio following a structural collapse in the foyer of the e-Work Arena. The group argues that the city’s 2023 designation as a ‘European City of Sport’ has masked significant maintenance failures regarding local athletic facilities.

Azione highlighted several ongoing infrastructure issues, including the Piscina Manara, which has been closed since June 2024, and delays regarding the Palaginnastica project. Other facilities, such as PalaBorsani and Pala Ariosto, were also noted for emerging criticalities. The group is formally requesting a transparent accounting of restoration costs, a definitive timeline for repairs, and a comprehensive mapping of the conservation status of all municipal sports complexes.
