Busy Philipps marks six months since brain tumor surgery
Actress Busy Philipps is marking six months of recovery following surgery to remove a brain tumor. The 47-year-old revealed the milestone on Instagram, noting that she also received clear results from a recent mammogram.
Philipps was diagnosed in February with a grade 2 oligodendroglioma, a rare, slow-growing tumor, after undergoing a full-body MRI scan. She has encouraged others, particularly women, to advocate for their own health and pursue diagnostic testing even when medical professionals suggest it may not be necessary.
Following the initial diagnosis, she underwent a procedure in March to remove a 2.6-centimeter mass. Although the surgery was successful, she faced a setback in April due to a staphylococcus infection at the incision site, which required follow-up surgery to clear the wound.
