Butera political tensions rise amid administration criticism
Political friction is increasing in Butera as local parties voice significant criticism of Mayor Giovanni Zuccalà’s administration. The Fratelli d'Italia (FdI) party has launched a formal critique, with local commissioner Marco Rosario Ferrante describing the last four years as a period of "wasted proclamations and patches." FdI highlighted failures in basic municipal services, including road maintenance, urban decorum, and cleanliness, noting that superficial repairs have failed to address deteriorating infrastructure.
Simultaneously, the Democratic Party (Pd) has distanced itself from the personal decision of assessor Stefano Inzisa to resign from the municipal government. While the Pd maintains its formal alliance with Mayor Zuccalà, party leadership stated that Inzisa’s resignation was an individual choice made without prior consultation or agreement with the party. The Pd expressed that the decision lacked institutional courtesy, suggesting the move may signal Inzisa's shift toward different political affiliations ahead of upcoming elections.
