Butler Basketball prepares for season opener at Hinkle Fieldhouse

Butler men’s basketball coach Ronald Nored is preparing for the regular-season opener against Lafayette at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Monday, Nov. 2. Following three exhibition games, Nored noted that while the offense remains a work in progress, the team showed improvement in creating opportunities, taking 19 more shots than Ohio State in a recent exhibition loss.

Addressing recent discussions regarding college basketball finances and rankings, Nored stated that financial resources do not guarantee success, noting that “the only thing money guarantees... is more swings at players.” He expressed confidence in the program's stability under athletic director Grant Leiendecker.

In preseason action, the Butler women’s team concluded their exhibition schedule with a 114-26 victory over Franklin College. Nevaeh Jackson led the scoring with 17 points, and all 13 Bulldogs players scored during the contest.
