Butterfly Run Okanagan to support bereaved families
The fourth annual Butterfly Run Okanagan is scheduled to take place on Oct. 3 at Kelowna’s City Park. Hosted by the Butterfly Support Network, the event is designed to provide remembrance, connection, and support for individuals affected by infertility, pregnancy loss, infant loss, and termination for medical reasons.
More than 300 people from across the Okanagan region are expected to attend. The initiative aims to create a community space for those navigating grief, such as Caitlin Ketterer, who shared how the network served as a lifeline following the loss of her firstborn son. Statistics indicate that pregnancy loss affects approximately one in four families, while infertility affects roughly one in six.
