BUTZE street children's house opens in Berlin-Lichtenberg
The BUTZE street children's house, a project by the association Straßenkinder e. V., has officially opened in Berlin-Lichtenberg. The facility was inaugurated on October 2, 2026, in the presence of Berlin's Governing Mayor Kai Wegner.
Spanning seven floors and approximately 3,650 square meters, the center provides 41 residential and sleeping spaces for homeless or at-risk children and adolescents. The facility is designed to centralize the association's support services, offering counseling, protection, and structured daily assistance. The organization expects to facilitate between 10,000 and 15,000 overnight stays per year.
