Bávaro ranked 39th globally for beach accessibility

Bávaro has been ranked 39th out of 100 beach destinations worldwide in a study titled ‘The World’s Most and Least Accessible Beach Destinations’ conducted by the ground transportation technology platform Mozio. The ranking measures land accessibility based on road distance (40% weight) and driving time (60% weight) from the nearest airport, rather than evaluating tourism quality.

The Punta Cana International Airport remains a critical hub for Dominican Republic tourism. According to Ministry of Tourism data, the country received 9,241,246 visitors between January and September 2026. Of these, 7,143,993 arrived by air and 2,097,253 arrived by sea. In September alone, Punta Cana International Airport accounted for 47% of all flights received in the country.
